After sixteen years of democratic hiatus in Nigeria, the nation abrogated military governance and embraced democratic system of governance since 1999. However, it is observed that political participation is largely limited to voting, while political apathy is also witnessed during elections. Scholars have attributed this subject political participation to lack of political socialization. While several studies had dwelt on other agents of political socialization, few had ventured into researches on investigating religious organisations as agents Using a multistage sampling technique, a survey involving 540 participants. selected from the eighteen local governments of Ondo State who were given Likert Scaled questionnaires with a Cronbach Alpha measurement of range 0.65 and 0.79, supplied their perceptions on the issue of study. From their responses, the study garnered that submits that most leaders of the various religious organizations were largely aware of the various political happenings in the country, actively engaged in the political education and socialization of religious adherents. The study concludes that religious organizations act as political socialization agents but needs to engage in more enlightenment programmes that would encourage more and higher levels of political participation by religious adherents.

Comparative literature is the study of a people in prints beyond the author's national boundary with a view to cross-pollinate them for local advantages. Its scope in Nigeria includes the source, the influence, and the affinity to the original text using the tool of adaptation. Its primary interest is in literary importation for socio-political, cultural dialogue and development. This paper discusses comparative literature, intertextuality, and modern drama in Nigeria by drawing a distinction between literary adaptation and translation. It analyses the thematic thrust of Femi "Osofisan's Who's Afraid of Solarin?" which paints the picture of leadership failure and corruption among the political elites and leaders in Nigeria during the first phase of political independence in the 90's some of which are still prevailing in the Twenty-first century. It also examines the sociopolitical similarities such as grant, bribery, corruption, and political structural failure in Nigeria and Russia during the period depicted in Nicolai Gogol's "The Government Inspector", which also captures the same phenomenon in Nineteenth century Tsar Russia. The paper recommends dramatisation of literary texts for sociopolitical re-orientation in Nigeria's political institutions and its inclusion in the school curriculum at the primary and secondary levels.

Abstract : In almost every place in the world, the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic is pushing societies, cultures and civilizations into uncharted territories. Social systems, economic structures and to an extent, political realities are being disrupted on a scale unprecedented in human recorded history. Educational systems are no exception, with more than 1.6 billion learners forced out of traditional schooling since the beginning of the pandemic. E-learning platforms and models are thus taking the center stage, leaping out from the shadows of traditional classroom-based learning with such force that many have argued it is indeed the future of learning. This paper examines the realities of such a paradigm shift within the Nigerian context, with particular spotlight on its advantages to the educational sector, as well as challenges that may hinder the realization of these advantages and nullify potential positive impacts.
